May the Lord bless you from Zion,
he who made heaven and earth! (Psalm 134:3)
As we come to the Lord’s Table each week near the end of worship, this is one of the ways in which the Lord blesses us, His people. We have blessed His name, and now He blesses us through this communion meal of bread and wine, and His presence with us. As we eat and drink in faith, looking to Christ, the small sustenance our physical bodies receive is a picture of the sustenance our faith receives and is encouraged with as we partake of Christ, who has given Himself to us. So let us give thanks, come, and be blessed by the Lord Jesus.
