Theology by Phraseology

August 1, 2016 by Jared Sparks Leave a Comment

Have you ever been sucked into theology by phraseology? Here are a few examples.

“God is love. Love demands freedom.”
“A loving god would not send people to hell.”
“God cannot give what he does not have.”
“God does not make robots.”
“Humans are free. God would not rape your will”

Now you know what I mean?! Countless numbers of believers in Jesus are having their theology shaped by stupid non-sense like this. Sounds a lot like Romans 10:2 “For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge” Our theology must be driven by the bible not by good sounding phrases.
