Jesus Loves You.

January 13, 2015 by Jared Sparks Leave a Comment

Who do you think about when you hear the words “Jesus loves you”? Do you think about how incredible Jesus is or how incredible you are? What you think about when you hear those words will reveal in us good or bad theology.

Bad Theology:
“Well if Jesus loves me it must tell me how lovable I am. Since He loves me, that means I am an incredible and interesting person. I must be infinitely valuable. Why wouldn’t Jesus love me?”

Good Theology:
“Well if Jesus loves me then He is unbelievably lovely. The fact that He loves me make me humble and in awe of Him. He is interesting and infinitely valuable. How could Jesus love me who is so unworthy? He must be the One who is truly worthy.”

So reflect. Where does your head and heart go when you hear the words “Jesus loves you”?
