Handwritten quote of the day.

June 16, 2014 by Jared Sparks Leave a Comment

I love this verse. Every generation is obsessed with itself and their accomplishments. The church is not immune to this obsession to build a name for herself. In fact the church “Myself included” is rather sneaky with our narcissism.  We have become masters of finding ways to be known as the people who don’t want to be known. I think this verse teaches us something.
Paul does not get caught up with promoting that eloquent preacher. By the wisdom of the Holy Spirit the identity of that preacher will forever remain a mystery. The bible does not tell us why the famous preacher in 2 Cor. is nameless. However, we do know what he was famous for. He preached the Gospel. This is the call of the preacher, the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus. We remain namely, Jesus name is to forever be praised!
