Do you know who you are not?

Jon 1:19-21 “And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him. “Who are you?” He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”

Do you know who you are not? That is a big question. Those bad singers on American Idol certainly do not know who they are not. But what about you? Do you know you are not the messiah? Let’s phase it differently. Do you know you are not your own or anyone else’s savior? Really??? This is the awesome and subversive power of the Grace of God. By his grace we can confess and not deny who we are not.
