“Jesus’ Hard Words of Life”<\/b><\/div>\n

<\/b><\/div>\n
Intro: The Bible Shatters Our Boxes <\/b><\/div>\n
\n
    \n
  • Jn 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life: the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoke to you are spirit and life”<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Most of the people in John 6 depend on the flesh and disagree with Jesus. Will we? <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Welcome to Paradox. We need the Holy Spirit <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • We all don’t have to agree on everything<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Hard stuff can still be words of life. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • The bible our authority on God. Not<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    1. What We Think<\/li>\n
    2. What we feel like<\/li>\n
    3. The Bible is not subject to the God you know<\/li>\n
    4. Our internal philosophers must bow to the Bible<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      When Hearts are Exposed  to the <\/b><\/div>\n

      • vs 41 The Jews Grumbled <\/span><\/li>\n
      • vs 52 The Jews tried to dispute Jesus words. <\/span><\/li>\n
      • vs 60 His disciples “This is a hard saying: who can listen to it?” <\/span><\/li>\n
      • vs 61 The disciples were grumbling. <\/span><\/li>\n
      • vs 66 Many disciples turned back and not longer walked with him. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        The 12 Agree With Jesus <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

        • Do you want to go away too? <\/span><\/li>\n
        • To who?<\/span><\/li>\n
        • “You have the words of eternal life and you are the Holy one of God<\/b>“<\/span><\/li>\n
        • What you say goes! Say what you want Jesus. You are right and we will agree with you! <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          So What did Jesus Say? <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

          Vs 24: Jesus did not Honor Their Seeking of Him<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

          • They zealously went after Jesus. <\/span><\/li>\n
          • Traveled land and see to get to him. <\/span><\/li>\n
          • The disciples see him walk on water<\/span><\/li>\n
          • These 20k have to find this Jesus! <\/span><\/li>\n
          • They seek him out. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            Vs 25-29 Jesus Response <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

            • vs 26 “All you want is bread” “Your not seeking me rightly” <\/span><\/li>\n
            • Jesus exposes the <\/span>motives<\/b> <\/span>of the people. <\/span><\/li>\n
            • Do they love Jesus? Or do they love what they want Jesus to be for them? <\/span><\/li>\n
            • Vs 28<\/span><\/b> <\/span>Okay so what do we do Jesus? What works? <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n

              • Believe in Jesus. That is the work God would have you do. <\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
              • vs 30: “For us to believe, do more work” It’s never enough<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                Vs 34-36 “I am the Bread”<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

                • Come to me: I satisfy. I am better than physical bread and drink! I am the point!<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Whoever believes!<\/span><\/li>\n
                • The Problem: They Don’t Believe!<\/span><\/li>\n
                • How will anyone believe then? <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
                          <\/div>\n
                  Vs 37-45 Whoever Comes to Jesus Does so Because the Father <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
                  \n
                    \n
                  • vs 37 Every person the Father gave to the Son comes to the son. <\/span><\/li>\n
                  • vs 37 Whoever comes will never be cast out. <\/span><\/li>\n
                  • vs 41 The flesh can not believe that Jesus was the bread of heaven. They knew Joseph and Mary. <\/span><\/li>\n
                  • vs 44 No one has the ability to come to God. God has to come to us. <\/span><\/li>\n
                  • vs 45 Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to the Son. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                      \n
                    1. All the people the Father Gives the Son Comes to the Son. <\/li>\n
                    2. Whoever\/Anyone who looks and believes will have eternal life. <\/li>\n
                    3. No one can (Has the ability to) believe. But people are held responsible for not. <\/li>\n
                    4. If you believe, then God deserves all glory. The Father gave you to the Son and therefore you believed!<\/li>\n
                    5. God gets 100% credit & glory for my belief.<\/li>\n
                    6. Humans are 100% to blame for disbelief.  <\/li>\n
                    7. Hu? Spurgeon “All glory to God in salvation: All blame to men in damnation.” Jacob and Esau <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                      Vs 46-59 Human’s Can’t Eat Jesus and Eats the Word of Life<\/b><\/div>\n

                      • V<\/b>s 48 “I am the bread<\/span><\/li>\n
                      • Vs 52 Jesus you are not “The bread who came down from heaven.”<\/span><\/li>\n
                      • “Whoever Eats and Drinks of Jesus will have eternal life” <\/span><\/li>\n
                      • How can we eat your flesh Jesus and drink your blood?<\/span><\/li>\n
                      • We can’t eat you flesh and dring your blood! <\/span><\/li>\n
                      • Jesus makes it impossible to follow him by fleshly wisdom<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        Vs 60-65 To Believe in Jesus mean God gets ALLLL the Glory.  <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

                        • “<\/b>This is hard” Many Disciples said this! <\/span><\/li>\n
                        • “Does this offend you?” Jesus knew they would not like this! <\/span><\/li>\n
                        • vs 63 Only those of the Spirit can receive this.<\/span><\/li>\n
                        • The flesh is of no help at all. You are not a Christian because of you! <\/span><\/li>\n
                        • No one comes unless granted by the Father. <\/span><\/li>\n
                        • Ralph Brandon<\/b> <\/span>“Walk through the door that says “Whoever will” and see the other side that says “You did not choose me but I chose you”” <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                          Vs 66-71 So Do You want to Leave as Well? <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

                          • No Jesus. What you say goes. You are right. <\/span><\/li>\n
                          • Where we going to go? We know who you are! <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                            True Disciples Agree with Jesus<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
                            \n
                              \n
                            • vs 68 “You have the words of life” “We have Believed” “You are the Holy One of God”<\/span><\/li>\n
                            • Vs 29 “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he sent.” <\/span><\/li>\n
                            • If you believe, that is the work of God. <\/span><\/li>\n
                            • To make God conform to their image most Christians have a theology that lets God get most of the credit but not 100% credit for their salvation. <\/span><\/li>\n
                            • This morning, step into the wonder of “All of Grace” <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
