Of the books that I read in 2012, here is a short list of those that I found the most helpful, beneficial, and God glorifying. <\/p>\n

The Transforming Power of the Gospel, by Jerry Bridges<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
     This was the best modern book that I have ever read on gospel powered sanctification. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Gospel Deeps, by Jared Wilson<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
    As with all of Wilson’s writing, I worshiped Jesus through this whole book. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Spiritual Depression:Its Causes and Cure, by Martyn Lloyd-Jones<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
   <\/div>\n
   Martyn Lloyd-Jones beautifully address the gospel’s implications in even life’s greatest difficulties. <\/div>\n

Council from the Cross, Elyse Fitzpatrick<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Great book on understanding the difference between so called “biblical counseling” (counseling and throwing a few bible verses in here and there) and true counseling from the cross. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Joy Unspeakable, Martyn Lloyd-Jones<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
Even though some aspects of the baptism of the holy spirit being subsequent to conversion I would disagree with, this is by far the best book on the holy spirit I have ever come across. <\/div>\n

The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
This book helps christians to see marriage through the lenses of the gospel, and the gospel through marriage. <\/div>\n
