This morning I read Romans 9. Here are a few brief thoughts about the chapter.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>It is a very clear chapter.<\/li>\n<li>It is a very hard chapter.<\/li>\n<li>If your reading does not lead you to ask &#8220;Is God just?&#8221; and &#8220;Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?&#8221; Then you are reading it wrong.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Answers to those questions? God is just and stop talking back to God, this is the way it is (Jared&#8217;s paraphrase). &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>The chapter has a sting to it.<\/li>\n<li>I am so thankful that salvation depends on God&#8217;s mercy instead of my will and exertion.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>It is completely compatible with Rom 10:13 &#8220;Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.&#8221; I don&#8217;t understand how it is compatible but it is because the bible says so.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>It means what it says. Don&#8217;t be like John Wesley who said &#8220;Whatever it means it can&#8217;t mean that&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>You must get past the questions raised in the chapter and cling to the answers given.
