Ecclesiastes<\/b><\/span> 3:16-22 “Corruption, The Certainty of Death, & the Afterlife” or “Observation’s About Humanity”<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

Intro: Last Time: The Backdrop is God’s Sov: What about Humanity? <\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

  • The problem of the world? Wars, Greed, Economic Woes, Crime, Death. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Nations are made up of individuals. Individuals are the problem. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • The sinful heart and therefore the will of man. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • The problem is that humanity thinks we have the answers. The problem thinks it itself is the solution.  <\/span><\/li>\n

  • Our best efforts fall so short. We can’t make things right. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • What passes for “Justice” is wickedness. <\/span><\/li>\n

      • Solomon sees the corruption and incompleteness of our best attempts at justice. <\/span><\/li>\n
      • Some get to little, some get to much, some get let go.  <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • What passes as “Righteousness” was even wickedness. Solomon saw <\/span> <\/b><\/li>\n

        • The ridiculousness of religious, external, righteousness. <\/span><\/li>\n
        • We do this to this day. We like external fakeness more than internal holiness. <\/span><\/li>\n
        • Slaves of tradition. We confuse holiness with keeping tradition. <\/span><\/li>\n
        • Tradition is more important than bible to so many people. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          Vs 17: I Said “In my Heart” <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

          • God will judge the righteous and the wicked. <\/span><\/li>\n
          • All people are included under those to headings. <\/span><\/li>\n
          • Every matter and every work will be judged. <\/span><\/li>\n
          • God will bring justice!! Does this not warm your heart?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            Vs 18: I Said “In my Heart” Man is a mere Beast<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

            • With all this mess. God is testing us. <\/span><\/li>\n
            • So humans will see that we are beast.<\/span><\/li>\n
            • One job of mine as a parent will be to show him or her they are not the point of life. <\/span><\/li>\n
            • The probelem thinks “It is the solution”. Nope<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              Vs 19-20 Beasts that Die Like All other Beasts <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

              • All animals die. All humans die. <\/span><\/li>\n
              • You and your dog have something in common. Death. <\/span><\/li>\n
              • Dust to dust. Created from dirt to dirt we will return. <\/span><\/li>\n
              • All without exception will die. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                • What happens when we the beast dies? <\/span><\/li>\n
                • Who can tell us what is next? <\/span><\/li>\n
                • Questions the bibles asks the bible answers. <\/span><\/li>\n

                  • Solomon had truthful questions and truth.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                    Hell: What does the bible say? <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

                    • Underdevelped understanding of the afterlife. Unfolding revelation. <\/span><\/li>\n
                    • Rev 21:8 Cowardly, faithless, detestable, murders, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, liars. Hell will be filled with sinners. <\/span><\/li>\n

                        • Adam: All about our work. All about our performance. All about our “Faith” All about us……..<\/span><\/li>\n
                        • In Christ: All about Jesus and his work. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
                          Vs 22: Only those who rest in Jesus work can rightly experiance work in life. <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
